REBECCA LAARZ M.C.,
Registered Provisional Psychologist
My journey to becoming a therapist began during years of working in schools. As a teacher, school counsellor, and inclusive education coordinator, I helped parents navigate supports from schools, health care, and social services to address the increasingly complex needs of their children. My therapeutic passion lies in supporting children, parents, and individuals to better understand their unique social and emotional needs, and to walk alongside them as they manage the difficulties in their lives.
I have worked with children dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, Tourette’s syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, PANDAS, fetal alcohol effect, selective mutism, etc. I also do psychoeducational assessments.
In addition to working with children, I work with people who have experienced significant trauma in their lives. I practice from a place of acceptance and non-judgment. I am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and practice from a trauma-informed lens. My aim is to hold space and compassion for each individual as they move forward in their healing journey.
