NADIA IVANCHIKOV M.A., Certified Canadian Counsellor

Nadia Ivanchikov, counsellor, Russian, Ukrainian therapy, immigrant counselling, trauma, family therapy, ADHD

My journey into psychotherapy is rooted in the deep commitment to fostering positive change, cultivated over decades in the school system and diverse educational settings. Working closely with families as an educator and later as a homeschool facilitator, I acquired an acute awareness of the unique challenges inherent in family dynamics and relationship structures as well as the specific needs faced by teenagers and young adults striving to integrate into modern society. With my training in therapy I am well-equipped to assist families in creating optimal environments for child development while navigating complex interpersonal relationships.

Drawing upon my personal experiences as an immigrant, I harbour deep empathy for refugees and new immigrants. As a bilingual English-Russian counsellor, I extensively engage with Russian-speaking clients from the post-Soviet space. Having witnessed the transformative power of counseling for individuals grappling with traumatic stress, depression and anxiety, I aim to provide a compassionate and supportive space. I support my clients’ journey toward healing, resilience, and successful integration employing a holistic somatic approach that builds up on personal strengths while actively supporting the development of accommodations in areas of need.
